“The books that help you most are those which make you think the most. The hardest way of learning is that of easy reading; but a great book that comes from a great thinker is a ship of thought, deep freighted with truth and beauty.” Theodore Parker (1810 – 1860)

The purpose of this blog is to bring students together via technology in order to share insights gleaned from various aspects of our reading of Lois Lowry's The Giver. Each student is an independent thinker with unique experiences and perspectives. In order for this to be a valuable tool for all students, it is important that the ideas expressed are individually sincere, thoughtful, and reflective and serve to broaden the thinking of others in the class. Please refrain from making the same, exact comments as another student. THINK FOR YOURSELF, PLEASE. THINK ABOUT WHAT TRUTHS MAY LIE BENEATH SURFACE DETAILS. AN ORIGINAL IS, AND ALWAYS WILL BE,WORTH MUCH MORE THAN A COPY! Increase the value of your own mind by building its power with constructive thoughts. ***Empty comments and off-topic contributions will be rejected, as will entries in which the writer appears to have recycled another’s exact words, and no credit will be given to the contributors.
